First Install

You need to create a system to study with. You can use a real system or even better, you can run the the system in a virtual computer. VMware gives away VMware Player.

You need a copy of Redhat Enterprise server 5.3 or an equivalent system to install. For my studies I am using the CentOS 5.3.

I built a VMware appliance of CentOS 5.3 study system. You can also download a zip file of the all the files in one CenOS-5.tar.gz. Or each of the six files indivualy.

The root password is 'password'.

If you are using VMware Player and you need to modify the the location of the CDROM you can edit the file CentOS.vmx and change the location.

If you have real hardwware you can use Kickstart_Installations to install it the same way every time.
